No matter what you're going through, no matter how many mistakes you have made, there is someone who loves you. His name is Jesus. So when you're struggling and you feel like no one can understand you, not even yourself, tell Him. Pour out your heart to Him. He will listen.
Set goals. Work hard. Chase your dreams. But in the midst of all the chaos, pressure, and self-expectations...don't forget to live. ❤️ #lifeinalyric #littleblessings
I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me.
This song captures the internal struggle of expectation vs reality that many teenagers experience. On one hand, you long to be noticed, yet at the same time, you feel vulnerable and insecure, like all eyes are watching you...
A lot of songs capture the social and romantic issues that teenagers face, but very few address the academic pressures that so many of us struggle with. School has a way of causing us to measure our self-worth through numbers, but always remember that there is so much more to life than your GPA. Take your studies seriously, of course, but always remember that you have a higher purpose. ❤️
Everyone always says to "be yourself". While this is good advice, the reality is that it's hard. It's hard to be yourself. In certain situations, around certain people, sometimes I pretend to be someone that I'm not. I don't do it on purpose, but it happens. Reaching the point where you can be totally comfortable with who you are is a long and difficult journey, but I'm getting there and so will you.
This was the first song I ever started writing, and it was inspired by my experiences of growing up and inevitably learning about the darker side of the world. As a teenager, you start to get exposed to some difficult truths. You hear terrible things in the news. You meet people who have twisted intentions. You realize that human beings can be truly awful. Yet even if everyone around you lives in shadows and becomes cold to compassion, you can still be beautiful. Don’t let anything take away the beauty that is yourself.
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." -Aesop
This song is about pouring out your heart to someone who does not deserve it. Although the narrator tries desperately not to hold on to the shattered pieces of her relationship, her hopeless honesty at the song’s end is a testament to the oppressive power of love. No matter how hard you try, the heart wants what it wants.
"Perfect I could pretend to be, but I'm perfectly fine just being me."
